Woodland Holiday Lodges is the trading name of WOODLAND PARK HOLIDAY LODGES LTD, a company formed to build and operate a small collection of luxury forest retreats at woodlandholiday.co.uk. We were established to offer guests a quieter alternative to the traditional holiday park, where the trees are kept, the lodges are spaced well apart and the pace of the day is left to the visitor. Our team brings together experience in lodge construction, hospitality and woodland management, and every decision we make is measured against one question: does this help a guest rest properly?
The lodges themselves are built from sustainably sourced timber and finished to a high standard, with insulated walls, underfloor heating and full-height glazing that frames the woodland outside. Each retreat sleeps between two and six guests and comes with a private deck, an outdoor hot tub and a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. We keep the interiors simple and warm, using natural materials and neutral colours so that the view through the window remains the main feature of every room.
The site sits within a managed woodland, and we work with the land rather than against it. Footpaths are laid to avoid the oldest trees, lighting is kept low to protect the night sky, and we plant native species each year to replace any timber used in construction. Guests are welcome to walk the marked trails, and we ask only that they stay on the paths and take their litter home, so that the woodland remains in good heart for the people who visit after them.
We opened our first lodges after two years of planning and groundworks, and we have grown slowly since then, adding retreats only when we are certain the woodland can carry them. That deliberate pace means we can look after each lodge properly and keep the site quiet, which is what most of our guests tell us they came for. We handle bookings, housekeeping and maintenance ourselves, so the people who answer the phone are the same people who prepare the lodge before you arrive.
